The Practice
The Lucas Veterinary Practice was set up in 1985 and has grown rapidly so that it now occupies a large and attractive turn-of-the-century house at the top of Willsbridge Hill.

The practice is a specialist small animal practice, with five veterinary surgeons, five qualified nurses and other trained support staff. We can meet all your animal's needs, from routine health checks to full surgical and intensive care treatment.

We have our own practice laboratory for speed and convenience of diagnostic testing and when necessary use the UK's largest veterinary laboratory for less common problems.

We also have in-house X-ray, ECG, Ultrasound, and anaesthetic monitoring equipment, to provide the best and safest treatment for your pets.

Home Visits
A Veterinary Surgeon will be happy to visit your pet at home if this is in the best interest of the animal. However, it is usualy better for your pet to be seen at the practice, where the vet willl have access to medical equipment and drugs that may be necessary for treatment.

Fees
There is no NHS for pets and veterinary practices rely on the fees you pay to fund the facilities, equipment and staff needed to treat your pet. We ask that the fees are paid at the time of treatment as this helps to keep the overall fee level down. Cash, cheques, credit and debit cards are accepted. We are always pleased to provide a detailed estimate before undertaking treatment. If finance is a problem, please discuss this with us before treatment commences.

Insurance
Pet insurance is an excellent way of ensuring that you will not have to compromise on the veterinary treatment of your pet. Advice on choosing pet insurance is available from our staff.
